How to overcome drug abuse/addiction?

In the wake of rising drug menace and drug abuse cases and Enforcement Directorate and  Narcotics crime control bureau inquiring the bollywood fraternity, searching their houses and arresting few of them, I thought of penning down my views and thoughts on this burning topic.

What is drug abuse?
Drug abuse is defined as consuming drugs illegally or without any prescription, for the purpose for which it is not meant to be used and which may ultimately lead to social, physical and mental complexities.

What good drug abuse does to you?
Practically, NOTHING.
Yes, many of you will say that it provides relief to your stressed mind and body and keeps away depression and anxiety. Then, I would ask, for how long?
Reality is quite opposite to what you think. Yes, it relaxes and relieves you but that is TEMPORARY.
Drug is never a permanent solution to any problem and this we have to understand as an awared and awakened citizens of society.

What bad drug abuse does to you and society?
For the very first time, when somebody consumes drug ( may be due to fashion, passion, failures, heart breaks, peer pressure, ruined relationships or just to have a taste of it), trust me, you are inviting a never ending problem in your life. Mark my words- NEVER ENDING... It's just like a bad spirit, who will come when you'll call it but would not go according to your wish.
It is a vicious trap in which once you get trapped, it will become very difficult to come out of it. It will take away all the positivity, laughter and light from your life... So, if you actually want to save the light of your life, then do not jump into this darkness.

Secondly, Drug abuse will never end your depression and anxiety. It will just let you forget your problems and that too, only till the time you are under it's influence. Once you are out of it, you will find yourself standing at the same crossroad. Moreover, your frustration and aggression will keep on adding with each passing day. After all, forgetting problems does not bring end to the problems, you have to actually face it to end it.
Let me simplify this with an example. Suppose, you have a toothache. You go to a dentist. He gives you an anesthesia. You got relieved and you returned home happily. But, at midnight, your tooth starts troubling you again. Would you like to get treated from the same dentist or else you would search for some other dentist who cures your toothache permanently?
Similarly, Drug consumption works like anesthesia- Temporary solution to permanent problem.

Thirdly, Buying drugs requires money, also you won't get it easily. So, why to spend your money on such a ridiculous thing, which does no good to you, instead it aggravates your problem?

Fourthly, you not only ruin your life but also invite innumerable problems for your family, friends and society. You would live a life of an escapist- who runs away from everyone and everything. You would be constantly in fear and grief, what if someone catches me?
That denotes, drug abuse= life full of sadness, sorrow, remorse, fear, anger, anxiety and frustration.
Also, if you die, what about your family and friends?
Okay, leave the family, friends and society. Do you really want to die because of drugs? Like, really?
If you really want to die, die for some good cause. Go and save someone in flood affected area and get yourself drowned in it Or give your food daily to some hungry fellow and let yourself die of starvation.

Fifthly, it is commonly said "live life, king size".
But, Drug abuse makes you a slave... Yes, A SLAVE. Your mind and body goes out of your control and you continuously crave for drugs. In a way, you become a slave of your mind and body and this is really pathetic thing to do. You should rule over your mind, body and senses and not let them rule over you.

Sixthly, Just because drugs is highly demanded to be consumed illegally, it has created a world of drug trafficking, drug peddling, drugs dealing, which puts many lives in distress. It not only affects the country economically and socially but also promotes human trafficking, terror funding, flesh trading, arms trading etc. So, why to put other's life in peril just to fulfill your own selfish desires?
If you don't want to be reason for someone's happiness, at least don't be reason for someone's sorrow.

How to come out of drug addiction/ abuse/ menace?
No friends, I would neither ask you to move to a rehabilitation center nor ask you to do mediation.
I would just say " you are stronger than you think".
Make your will power so strong so that you don't feel the urge of consuming drugs.
There are many ways of strengthening your will power.
1. Commonly, it is found that people go after drugs when they have some problem in their life and they do not get help from anyone. If this is the case with you, if you are all alone and not getting help from anybody, you take the initiative and start helping someone. Trust me, your problem will end then and there only. Help someone who is in need of help, who is sad and all alone like you. The happiness and satisfaction you will achieve at that very moment, will take away all your pain, sorrow and loneliness.

2. Go and sit at any cremation ground of your region. Watch people silently who come and go. You would feel blessed to have this life of your own.

3. If you do not have any money crisis, then invest the money which you would else invest on drugs, to educate some poor kids or to feed some hungry kids or to buy gifts for orphans and elderly (who are discarded by their children). Trust me, the smile on their faces will bring smile on your face and will brighten up your life.

At last, I just want to say that "Addiction is a disease which makes you too selfish to see the havoc you created in the lives of people who really care for you." So, put a full stop to this menace by taking charge of your actions as WHERE THERE IS LIFE, THERE IS ALWAYS  HOPE .
